DynoMites Incorporated is a Wellington based rock climbing club, established in 2002. The club aims to assist members with preparation for and participation in sport climbing competitions, and general climbing related activities. A range of competitions take place in New Zealand; all are a lot of fun and a great way to meet other climbing enthusiasts from around the country.
DynoMites climbers range in age from about nine years to adult. We train at HangDog Climbing Centre in Lower Hutt.
Club activities include:
- Providing information on upcoming events.
- Participating in (and sometimes assisting in the running of) local, regional and national sport climbing and bouldering competitions.
- In some cases, coordinating payment of competition fees and arrangements for accommodation and transport to competitions.
- Fund raising to help members with the expense of attending competitions.
- A weekly class for committed climbers. Coaching is focussed on competition preparation. Members of this class also attend HangDog's weekly climbing class, Dynos. HangDog in Lower Hutt and Fergs in Wellington both offer various climbing classes.
| Family membership (1 competing climber) | $60/yr |
| Family membership (more than 1 competing climber) | $100/yr |
| Associate membership | $5/yr
Associate membership does not entitle the member to participate in or benefit from ordinary club activities; it only entitles the member to purchase a climbing licence from Climbing New Zealand. If an associate member wishes to upgrade to full membership later in the year, the $5 already paid will be deducted from the individual or family membership fee due. |
